University of Calgary and Crown Appealing Whatcott Victory!

Dear Friends:

As most of you are aware, I recently won my 3 year battle against the homofascist University of Calgary. In actual fact we all won. I know this Provincial Court decision along with my Court of Queen's Bench decision against the University of Regina has not only been helpful to me, but these decisions are also helpful for pro-life activist Stephanie Gray and her group the Canadian Center for Bio-Ethical Reform when they try to bring their graphic abortion signs to Canadian University Campuses.

To see why Christian activism is necessary on university campuses, look at what the University of Calgary hosts on their server presumably in the name of "free speech:"

http://people.ucalgary.ca/~ptrembla/gay ... .htm#inter
I'm 14, I'm Gay & I Want a Boyfriend N/A (Alternate Link): Fourteen year old LEE tells PETER TATCHELL about first sex, boyfriends, coming out, paedophilia, and why an age of consent of 16 won't help under-age gays like him. Lee is 14. He's been having sex with boys since the age of eight, and with men since he was 12. Lee has a serious problem. He wants a steady relationship and has been going out recently with a guy in his mid-twenties, who he met at the hairdressers. But in the eyes of the law, Lee's partner is a paedophile and Lee is a victim of child abuse. That's not, however, the way Lee sees it: "I want to have a boyfriend. It's my choice. No one's abusing me. Why should we be treated like criminals?".

I believe most sane people will find the above link highly offensive, and solid proof that some of the University of Calgary's academics are sexual deviants and not credible in their research or writings. While the above is considered "free speech" on the U of C campus, my flyers criticizing homosexuality are not. In fact the university hates my flyers so much they are willing to appeal my Provincial Court victory to the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench.

This e-mail from my lawyer Dale Fedorchuk is self explanatory

Bill,

Please be advised that the Crown intends to appeal the decision handed down by Judge Bascom in your case. I expect that they will be serving me with the appeal soon.

You will recall our discussions before the trial that you would pay for the costs in the amount of $1,345.01 incurred before the trial, but that I would not charge you a fee for the trial itself. This resulted in a savings to you of about $10,000.00. We had also agreed that if the Crown appealed, you would fundraise to cover the costs of the appeal. You could also apply to Legal Aid for coverage for the costs of the appeal.

I now require you to fund raise to pay the outstanding account of $1,345.01. I also need you to either apply to Legal Aid, or fund raise $5,000.00 to cover the costs of the appeal to the Court of Queen’s Bench. This is an important issue involving free speech rights. I am certain that you will be able to raise funds from your many supporters.

Sincerely,

Dale

To read Judge Bascom's decision and see why it is worth it for social conservatives who care about our freedom to speak on moral issues to support this appeal, please go:

Mr. Fedorchuk is giving me a substantial discount. In fact I believe there is no better lawyer for this job in all of Alberta, either for the price or quality of work to take this case on appeal. Still for a guy who is not rich and who has two children to support the burden of keeping our victory intact is heavy for me to bear alone. $6,300 is a lot of coin, but if my friends help out as God enables you, we can all insure the Crown Prosecutor and university are not able to take away the hard fought victory and resulting freedom that has been won. In fact if we win at the Court of Queen's Bench level we will have an even greater victory, as all Alberta Universities would be bound by a Court of Queen's Bench decision.
