Please pray for Michael Bray, wife and children

Dear Friends:
While I am aware this fellow's views are controversial, even amongst pro-life Christians, I think we should be very concerned when the government does this to a private citizen.

At any rate the children should have a home and as far as I am concerned, while I don't agree with all of Mr. Bray's views I will still do what I can to encourage the body of Christ to help this man and his family in their time of need. They are losing their home and they need shelter for their children.

On October 1, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Federal Marshals and Sherff's deputies stormed into Michael and Jayne Bray's home along with Planned Parenthood attorneys. For the next 5 hours the authorities confiscated computers, books, and unknown personal items.


The Brays are ordered to leave their home within 30 days!

Michael Bray is the author of A Time to Kill, an ethical treatise on the use of force in defense of the child in the womb. The book was cited as a cause to include Bray as a defendant in the $ 1.4 billion Planned Parenthood complaint (Planned Parenthood v. American Coalition of Life Activists) filed against him and twelve other defendants in the U.S. District Court of Oregon in the fall of 1995.

Michael Bray spent four years in federal prison (1985-1989) in connection with the destruction of several abortion facilities in the D.C. area. He was the prevailing defendant in the Supreme Court decision known as Bray v. Alexandria. Appearances on numerous radio and TV talk shows discussing the justification for protecting the "fetus" with deadly force. He was the co-pastor of Reformation Lutheran Church in Bowie, MD, 1984-2003. Michael Bray hosted with Reformation Lutheran Church the annual White Rose Banquet 1996 - 2001. Banquet was held in Washington D. C. to honor otherwise shunned convicts for their anti-abortion deeds. Bray is the co-founder of the Bowie-Crofton Pregnancy Center in 1982.

Bray has a B.A. in English from Rockmont College (now Colorado Christian University), M.A. in New Testament from Denver Seminary; author of scholarly essays (Evangelical Theological Society), two books, publisher and editor of a quarterly 12-page newsletter, Capital Area Christian News (1991-2000); columnist for the monthly Life Advocate magazine for four years (until it was sued out of existence by the PP v. ALCA case); 3 years as assistant director of entertainment at Denver’s Casa Bonita (restaurant); proficiency in two languages (German and Spanish); extensive travel and cultural exposure throughout U.S., Europe, and Turkey; 12 years directing a Christian school, teaching middle and high school; abundant experience in communication with major media reporters and journalists in print, radio, and TV since 1981 in connection with anti-abortion activism (has been interviewed by most major papers including Boston Globe, L.A. Times, New York Times, USA Today, Washington Pos, Washington Times; numerous appearances on talk radio; 60 Minutes; HBO special; several foreign media).

Sire of 11 children by the most excellent wife in the land. While eight are still at home under seventeen years old, grown children include a 2005 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, a social worker with a graduate degree, and a third college graduate (2006) presently working in Wilmington as a firefighter in training, a substitute teacher, high school assistant soccer coach, and a regular volunteer at the Women’s Center.

* Following issuance of writ of execution in August, 2006, we assert Jayne's rights to half the property.

* Court acknowledges Jayne's rights.

* PP throws a fit (Late November) and claims that we are scoundrels and Jayne has no right to our property.

* We awaited action from the marshals and sheriff's office: the seizing of the house and personal property for 11 months

* On 24 July, 2007 we heard from a lawyer by phone that action is forthcoming. U.S. marshals were coming to seize property (house books, computers, household items, and any writings of Michael Bray). Subsequent contact with marshals in early August suggests delays, however. (Who knows? We look up!)

If you are going to compare him to Tim McVeigh, please show me all the details, what exactly was he charged with, and why did he only spend 4 years in prison?

As far as I can see he was charged only with conspiracy to bomb abortion clinics. I see no evidence that one person died or was injured in any of his bombings.

While I can't condone any illegal activity, this is an interesting mental exercise.

- Why does it change when the child is pre-birth? Especially if we are talking the fetal stage when the child is viable outside the womb?


Seems to be that it is pretty obvious, especially in the days of ultrasound that a fetus is a young human. The embryonic stage is arguable. How is it that we have talked ourselves into believing that it is not infantacide to kill viable babies in the womb?

It is the question here! Thank you.

My answer, and this goes for unborn kids too, that we aren't and cannot be everywhere. We have to give people an incentive to do that which is right, and we need to make it difficult for them to kill their children. In the case of infanticide, one of the missions of the church was to drop off babies so that mothers could leave them there, without ever meeting the nuns. The nuns would raise them in the convent rather then letting the child die from exposure.

I think if we had something similar to that today, we would have far fewer abortions or infanticides.

We should also stop funding abortions, close down all the clinics. Sure, the doctors will still perform them, but if they are found they should be charged.

As for myself personally, I would do whatever it took to convince the woman to keep her child, including providing her with a place to stay and the rest.
