Ok, I picked one bold part at random.

THIS IS NOT BIASED .... IF TRUE, ITS NEWS!

They are interviewing and discussing terrorism, how they heck do you expect them to do that without discussing the current state of modern terrorism.

I will assume that the terrorists are turning car-bombings into slick videos (because i dont surf the net looking for such things) how would you rewrite that sentence Ben????

If its a fact and a new development, ITS NEWS!! Hence the reason its called a NEWSPAPER. They put news in it, good or bad.

They did not write "the militants are turning grainy car-bombing video into fantastic hip-hop and montage movies, which are very inpspiring to me and I suggest everybody watch them because I like to watch our soldiers get killed to the music of 50 Cent, we should thank Allah" Now that would be biased. See the difference.

I have known for a long time that many on the far right just take things as the gospel truth without forming an independant thought. This stupid and repeated attack on one of the great newspapers on the planet is such a right-wing sacred cow. I will admit that many the opinions on the OP-ED page slant to the left ... but that is why they call it the OPINION page, it s the place for opinion.

That's fair enough. Which is why I expect to see words like 'graphic', 'brutal', 'violent', in reference to these videos. Not 'slick', 'hiphop'. How would I rewrite it?

What if they are "slick" and have "hiphop" music. Those are descriptive terms, not necessarily biased terms.

Would you describe the bombing of a clinic in those same terms if it were filmed?

"Those anti abortionists had a real slick video of them bombing an abortion clinic." I would think you would find that review a bit too sympathetic.

You inserted the word "real" in front of slick.

To describe a video as "slick" indicates that the video looks professionally done and meant to impress the viewer. It does not indicate if the subject of the video is good or bad.

It was proper use of the Queens English if you ask me and not an endorsement of the content of the video.


.. and yes, if a video of a bombing of an abortion clinic was done in a porfessional way, slick would be proper use of the word ... and not an endorsement of the actual bombing
