A pro-family leader in Florida is applauding a major oil company for enforcing its contractual agreement prohibiting retail locations from selling porn.

David Caton, executive director of the Florida Family Association (FFA), explains that a concerned citizen contacted his group about a local store selling porn.

"[In] this particular case, it was a CITGO store in Gainesville, Florida, that was reported as selling pornography," Caton details. "CITGO responded by asking the retailer to remove the magazines, and we have confirmed that that has been done."

The family advocate tells OneNewsNow CITGO and most other major oil companies are doing their part to keep porn out of stores.

"All the major oil companies, with the exception of Shell Oil, are enforcing their marketing agreement provisions that prohibit the sale of porn by independent retailers," the FFA executive director reports.

He says a few years ago, Shell contracted with Circle K, the largest retail carrier of pornography in North America. So his group is "urging people to send e-mails to the top officials with Shell Oil Company to encourage them to get out of the porn business."

Caton goes on to encourage people to view the list of major oil companies that have adopted polices to prohibit the sale of porn so that they can help hold the companies and local retail stores accountable.

I was not aware Shell was in the porn business. Too bad I buy gas there. I guess I won't now, until they clean up their act.....
