What's in a Name?

Postby HalleluYaH » Wed Mar 14, 2012 5:54 am

"What's in a Name?" EVERYTHING! Especially in "thee Name". And "Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed by Your Name" does not say His Name is "Art" but the true Name we are taught by the Messiah it is certainly to be "Hallowed". This aligns with the third of the Ten Commandments "Do not take the Name ... in vain." And the original word used for "vain" in Hebrew is "shav" which Strong's Hebrew Dictionary suggests it's true meaning is "desolating" it or to "ruin" it, from the word "shoah" which means to "rush over" or "devastate".

However, that is exactly what has been done by most English Bibles as we read from the preface of the NIV ... "In regards to the divine name YHWH, commonly referred to as the Teragrammaton, the translators adopted the device used in most English versions of rendering that name as "LORD" in capital letters ..."

The word "device" is defined as "a plan or plot, esp a clever or evil one; scheme; trick." Huuh? They used a clever or evil plan, a scheme, a TRICK to replace the Divine Name of our Creator, YHWH? Some trick, as according to the true definition of "vain", this self-confessed "device" or TRICK desolates the Father's true Name by replacing it with a title. It is also violates His strict orders not to add or take away from His Word (Deuteronomy 4:2 & 12:32; Proverbs 30:5,6; Ecclesiastes 3:14; Revelation 22:18,19)

A question is posed in Proverbs 30:4 ... Who has gone up to the heavens and come down? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who established all the ends of the earth? What is His Name, And what is His Son’s Name, If you know it? The very next two verses states ... "Every Word of Eloah is refined; He is a shield to those taking refuge in Him. Do not add to His Words, Lest He reprove you, and you be found a liar."

The Almighty Divine Name of "YHWH" is what is supposed to be written SIX THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED & TWENTY-ONE times in the Original Writings (O.T.) plus another FORTY-NINE times we should see His Name in a shorter from of YHWH, as "YaH", for a total of SIX THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED & SEVENTY times. But what do we see instead? The is an ADD to His Words of the replacement "LORD" that is not His Name. Those translators must have pants on fire. :)

We see a small trace of His true Name preserved slightly in Psalm 68:4 in the NKJV "... by His Name YAH ..."

So, what's in a Name? Every name has a meaning in the Hebrew that is descriptive of their character, calling and purpose. Especially the Name of the Almighty, YHWH which means "Self-Existant Eternal". And there are hundreds of His followers that have His Name in their name. Here are just some of them, as correctly transliterated from the Hebrew and their meanings ... YeshaYaHU (IsaiYaH) is "Saved of YaH", YermeYaHU (JeremiYaH) is "Rise with YaH", NehemYaH (NehemiYaH) is "Consolation of YaH", ObadYaH (ObadiYaH) is "Serving YaH", Tsephanyah (ZephaniYaH) is "Covered of YaH", ZekarYaH (ZechariYaH) is "Rembered of YaH", and YaHoshua (JoshuYaH) is "YaH saved" which leads us to the true Name of the true Messiah.

C'mon, with all these great men of YHWH that have been given a part of His Name, YaH, in theirs and do we really believe He would leave His Name out of His only begotten Son's Name? Impossible, as confirmed in Yochanan (John) 5:43 the Messiah makes an incredible statement that is often missed or mistaken ... “I have come in My Father’s Name and you do not receive Me, if another comes in his own name, him you would receive."

This connects with that Proverbs 30:4 verse above that asks "What is His Name, And what is His Son’s Name, If you know it? Why ask this, if everyone knows the answer, unless the Names were hidden or changed? What Name must we call on for salvation? The Father's Name (Psalm 116:13; Yoel 2:32) or uh, the Son's Name (Acts 4:10,12) or uh, maybe either Name (Acts 2:21, Romans 10:13). ??? :)

Ok, well then which Name is used for immersion (baptism)? The Father and the Son (Matt 28:19) but many think this is not a correct translation because we see by many examples they actually immersed ONLY in the Name of the Son in Acts 2:38 & 10:48 & 19:5. The answer to all these questions is answered again from Yochanan (John 5:43) as the Son says clearly "I have come in my Father's Name ..."

The true Name of the Father is YHWH, with vowels a Hebrew transliteration to English is YaHuWaH. And the true Name of the Son is YaHuWshuaH (pronounced like YaH-ho-shoo-ah), which means "YaHuWaH's salvation" which He most certainly is ... HalleluYaH :) He and His Father are One as we read in Yochanan (John) 10:30. One in message, One in Name. Calling on the true Name that means "YaH's salvation" for salvation (now that makes sense). Immersing in the Name that means "YaH's salvation" that contains the Father & Son's Name satisfies Matt 28:19 as reconciled with the actions of Acts 2:38 & 10:48 & 19:5. Hallelu~YaH! ... is praising Father & Son' as they are One.

We see this match of Names of YaH for the Father in Exodus 3:14, "...Thus you shall say to the children of Yisra’ĕl, ‘I AM has sent me to you'." and the Son as He says in Yochanan (John) 8:58 "... Before Abraham was, I AM" This "I AM" in Hebrew is "HaYaH" which means "to exist, to be".

Sounds so simple but how did we miss this? Well the translators had a part in it when they "illegally" removed the Father's Name and replaced it with a title that is used for other "so-called" deities (like George Harrison's song "My Sweet Lord" is about Hare Krishna) or used for some aristocracy or judges etc. Hardly an exclusive title and definitely not the Name of the One true Creator. If a Mormon, a Jehovah Witness, a Roman Catholic and a Muslim are together and they all talk about "the Lord" or "God" or "Jesus" each title, description and name means something different in the character of these ones to each one of these groups but they all believe in "a" god and someone called "Jesus".

The name "Jesus" comes from the Greek, Iesous, pronounced "ee-ay-sooce" according to Strong's Greek Dictionary(G2424) but Strong explains that the true Hebrew origin is Jehoshua but pronounced "Yeh-ho-shoo-ah" (H3091). There is no actual letter "J" in the Hebrew and it is reasonably new to the English language as the original KJV Bible had the name "Iesus" instead of "Jesus". So no one was calling the name "Iesous" or "Jesus" when the true Messiah was walking the earth and preaching His Good News.

The true Messiah is Hebrew, given a Hebrew derived Name as He called Himself, as we see demonstrated in Acts 26:14,15. The Messiah, who could speak every language, spoke Hebrew to Sha'ul (Paul's Hebrew Name), who could speak many languages. So we see He called him Sha'ul and then called Himself by His true Hebrew Name (as these Scriptures make a point to mention He is speaking in Hebrew). “And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me, and saying in the Hebrew language, ‘Sha’ul, Sha’ul, why do you persecute Me? It is hard for you to kick against the prods.’ “And I said, ‘Who are You, Master?’ And He said, ‘I am YaHuWshuaH, whom you persecute."

The Messiah calls Himself by His Hebrew Name and calls others by their Hebrew names so we might want to follow His example. Hey, and we do not need to speak Hebrew as they are transliterated in to English letters and sounds. And we have been doing it already as "Satan" is Hebrew and NEVER changed. Hhhmmm, the Father's & Son's Names are changed but not the devil's name? True ... and again hhhhmmm, go the conspiracy theorists. :)

Now that's another topic for another time but this is enough ... for now ... lol.

Re: What's in a Name?

I have come in My Father’s Name and you do not receive Me, if another comes in his own name, him you would receive. Yochanan (John) 5:43 ... guess who "another" is? ...

Another's name is "Jesus", as received by most of the approximately thirty-eight THOUSAND "Christian" denominations including the Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses. Even the Muslims know from their Quran a "Jesus" "messiah" that as many similarities with the christian "Jesus" but alas not enough similarites with the TRUE Messiah.

The true Messiah is Named, YaHuWshuaH, who truly comes in His and our Father's Hallowed Name which is YHWH (YaHuWaH). The knowing of these Names and their meaning is paramount ...
YHWH (YaHuWaH) = Self-Existent Eternal as YaHuWshuaH = Self-Existent Eternal Salvation. HalleluYaH!

So, "Jesus" is an impossible Name of the true Messiah as is his previous name, "Iesous", according to Strong's G2424 pronounced as "ee-ay-sooce" with it's disturbing likeness to "He's-a-Zeus", who was the supreme "diety" of the Greeks (Strong's G2203). It is reported, that much was done in the first few centuries to attract the pagans and to "un-Jewish" the look of this new "religion" of "Christianity". It is thought, that the goal was to change names to be more Greek based but what a bonus to attract the pagans to make their "Christ" share a similar sounding name as the pagan Greek supreme diety, Zeus. Especially, evident now when spoken in other languages like Spanish.

However, the true Messiah is Hebrew, given a Hebrew derived Name, as we see supported in Acts 26:14,15. The Messiah, who could speak every language, spoke Hebrew to Sha'ul (Paul's true name from Hebrew), who could speak many languages. So we see the true Messiah called him Sha'ul and then called Himself by His true Hebrew Name (as these Scriptures make a point to specifically mention He is speaking in Hebrew). “And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me, and saying in the Hebrew language, ‘Sha’ul, Sha’ul, why do you persecute Me? It is hard for you to kick against the prods.’ “And I said, ‘Who are You, Master?’ And He said, ‘I am YaHuWshuaH, whom you persecute." He was speaking Hebrew so a Greek name was not possible.

Yet, this is much, much more than just a case of "wrong name" but is a case of "mistaken identity" by most of the followers of this other named one, "Jesus", as one they report has supposedly told them they need not keep all the Torah (law and commands). This is not just a case of a false name translation but a false "messiah" according to this wrong understanding of the true Messiah. And this is not like the true followers of the true Messiah that stated "And this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the Elohim of my fathers, believing ALL that has been written in the Torah and in the Prophets." Acts 24:14

But I am afraid, lest, as the serpent deceived Hawwah (Eve) by his trickery, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Messiah. 2 Corinthians 11:3

The simplicity in the Messiah is to walk as He walked (1 Yochanan 2:6) because if we do not agree to do this by guarding His commands and we say we know Him we are a liar. Liars do not enter the Kingdom (Revelation 22:15) nor do ones whose righteousness does not EXCEED the righteousness of the Pharisees (Matt 5:20). Righteous is walking in all the commandments/laws of YHWH irreproachable. (Luke 1:6).

And by this we know that we know Him, IF we guard His commands.
The one who says, "I know Him," and does not guard His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Elohim has been perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. The one who says he stays in Him MUST himself also to walk, even as He walked
. 1 Yochanan 2:3-6

As the TRUE Messiah warns "And then I shall declare to them, ‘I never knew you, depart from Me, you who work lawlessness!' (Matt 7:23) This word for "lawlessness" is the Greek word "anomia" (Strong's G458) which is also "illegality" or "violation of the law". This same Greek word "anomia", is the word used to define "sin" in the Scripture as "lawlessness" in 1 Yochanan (John) 3:4 Everyone doing sin also does lawlessness and SIN is LAWLESSNESS!

So we don't know Him and He does not know us IF we do not guard His commands and Torah (teachings, law) as we are then separated from Him by sin which is lawlessness, illegality and the violation of the law.

We see well-meaning "Christians" doing a so-called "sinners prayer" but how can we ask for forgiveness of sin and repent from it while knowing that sin separates us from YHWH but then keep on sinning? If the Torah (teachings, law, commands) is abolished then the law would be gone taking sin with it and no need to repent as sin wouldn't exist. Romans 7:7 states "What, then, shall we say? Is the Torah (law) sin? Let it not be! However, I did not know sin except through the Torah (law)." The Torah (law) is Holy and Spiritual (Romans 7:12,14), the opposite of sin.

The TRUE Messiah, YaHuWshuaH states ...

Let your light so shine before men, so that they see your good works and praise your Father who is in the heavens. Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah (law) or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to replete. For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torah (law) till all becomes. "Whoever, then, breaks one of the least of these commands, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the reign of the heavens; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the reign of the heavens. "For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall by no means enter into the reign of the heavens. Matt 5:16-20

YaHuWshuaH, the true Messiah, truly comes in His Father's Name (Yochanan [John] 5:43) plus He guards all of His Father's Commands (Yochanan 15:10). We must walk like the true Messiah walked, to truly know Him (1 Yochanan [John] 2:3-7) and He to truly know us (Matt 7:21-23). HalleluYaH!

Walking like the true Messiah begins with the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17) when we agree to ...

1) YHWH as our only Elohiym (God).
2) Not making of graven idols of any image that is above, below or on the earth and no worship of ones made.
3) Not desolating, destroying, ruining or replacing the Name of YHWH.
4) Remember to guard the seventh day Sabbath by only working on the first six days and resting on the seventh day.
5) Honour our father and mother.
6) Not murder.
7) Not commit adultery.
8) Not thieve.
9) Not heed false witness.
10)Not covet anything.
